As the SS20 edition draws ever nearer, we spoke to Alexa K founder, Alexandra Elsener about her favourite city spot in her hometown of Basel.
Speaking of her Swiss hometown, Alexandra tells us "I definitely love the old town of Basel with it's medieval character and the beautiful nature that surrounds it. It's a great place to relax and unwind".
For art lovers, Alexandra recomments the "Foundation Beyeler toenjoy a coffee and cake in their museum gardens".
But the best thing of all for Alexandra? She tells us, "I love the fact that I can go shopping, to Germany and France, within 15 minutes by bus and tram. For me, that makes Basel one of the best places to live in Europe!"
Alexandra's impressive career means she's an expert on all things fashion. She tells us, "I have a corporate fashion background which included fashion buying and visual merchandising". Having owned a boutique store full of emerging designers, Alexandra was soon driven to do something "more personal and with a bigger purpose... my husband was the one who encouraged me to pursue my own fashion and lifestyle brand".
She continues, "I knew that I wanted to create a lifestyle fashion business that would make my customers feel unique and meaningful when wearing my new brand. Therefore, the Alexa K brand focuses on celebrating the indomitable women who share the wolf spirit; intelligence, integrity, and independence".
True to her bid for creating something with purpose, Alexandra makes sure that there is always an ethical element included in design and all elements of business. She says, "Alexa K is also about bringing awareness of endangered species and their importance for our ecosystems".
